Meet the Team

Joe Miro

Joe is currently a graduate student in Fairfield University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). He is passionate about helping individuals navigate difficult life situations with compassion and understanding. With over seven years of experience in education, Joe has honed skills in supporting children and adolescents to improve executive functioning, coping strategies, and emotional regulation, while fostering an environment that respects each person’s unique background. Through both professional and personal experiences, he has developed patience and strong active listening skills that help him meet clients where they are.

In his training at Fairfield University, Joe has focused on a person-centered approach, empowering clients to direct the pace and content of sessions. He believes in clients’ innate capacity for self-healing and growth, striving to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space. Joe integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing, working from a strengths-based and solution-focused perspective.

Outside of therapy, Joe prioritizes self-care through hiking, exercise, catching up with friends, and spending time with his family. He enjoys exploring new restaurants, cooking, and traveling to experience different cultures. Joe also likes reading about psychology and personal development, practicing mindfulness, and volunteering in his community when he can. He believes in living a balanced life and values the importance
of staying connected to his passions outside of work to better support his clients.
