ADOLESCENT INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM

A Recovery Program Designed for Struggling Teens

Elevate’s Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) has been designed to be an immersive and holistic mental health treatment program for teens and can help with an array of issues. These include mild to severe symptoms of depression, anxiety, chronic suicidal ideation and/or self-harming behaviors. So teens suffering from these conditions will benefit greatly from engagement and participation in this program.

The goal of our Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program is to help adolescents design and create the life they want. They do this using Elevate’s proprietary, evidence-based curriculum. This curriculum has its root in the developmental perspective, understanding and leverage of how a teen's brain develops and will continue to develop. So to complement the development of a growing brain, our team of experienced licensed clinicians will introduce concepts and skills rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

We build the foundation of each session on specific topics to cover and provide valuable psychoeducation. This is reinforced through activities that allow for creativity and artistic expression. So this helps make the sessions informative, interesting, and engaging. Each adolescent in the program works with our Adolescent Clinical Team. This team comprises our psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, licensed clinical social workers and licensed professional counselors.

Each member of the Adolescent Clinical Team uses their passion and interest in assisting adolescents to help teens design and build a life worth living. We have commitment to driving outcomes and improving the overall mental health of every teen who receives treatment in our program.

Our Goals

The goal we keep in mind for every patient is to help them build a life worth living. This means something different for each person and requires tailoring our program to each individual. However, there are some pillars we use to create this foundation for everyone.

Our Adolescent Clinical Team works hand-in-hand to help teens stabilize and commit to improving their overall mental health. This helps them become the lead investigator of their own lives. Patients in the Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program then begin to pick out goals for their future. They receive guidance and the teaching of skills; resulting in them having the courage to actively apply these lessons at home and in the real world.

How is The Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program Different?

Holistic and empathetic treatment is paramount in the Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program. Our Adolescent Clinical Team works with each teen and their parents to develop a personalized Treatment Plan based on their needs. This includes the severity of their symptoms, unique circumstances, and clinical needs.

Groups meet up for three hours on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:15pm-6:15pm. Our objective is to help treat teens so that they can learn the skills to build the life they want now and into the future.

Also, because of our inclusive and holistic philosophy, we require parents and caregivers to participate in their child’s treatment. Subsequently this involves attending weekly Parenting Education Workshops to help them become an active and positive influence in their teen’s healing.

Benefits of the Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program

One of the most exciting elements about the Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program is that it is in-network with insurances. This includes most commercial insurance and Husky. So with no exorbitant and hidden out of pocket fees, this outpatient program is a premier insurance-covered Adolescent Outpatient Program in Fairfield County, CT.

Other benefits include:

  • Licensed clinicians leading each group have full training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

  • Collaborative and individualized treatment.

  • Groups are held after school hours, and teens remain living at home. So this allows them to begin applying practical skills immediately.

  • Teens have ongoing access to a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner who will assist in medication management.

  • We tailor the duration and frequency of treatment to the teen's needs.

  • Support is provided to the family to help them assist in their teen’s ongoing wellness and recovery.

  • Crisis support and case coordination as needed.

  • Also, upon graduation from the Adolescent IOP, teens will continue to receive individual therapy and medication management with their Treatment Team on an outpatient basis. So there is no disruption as they reduce the intensity of their level of care.

Build the Foundation of Their Future

The Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program is open to teens 13 through 18 years old and is ideal for treating certain conditions. These include suicidal ideation, self-injurious behaviors, engagement in impulsive or risky behaviors. Also, significant impairment or decreased functioning at home and school and moderate to severe symptoms of depression or anxiety.

In addition, because these teens sometimes lack emotional regulation skills, they can also present with emotional outbursts, chronic problems with their peer group, repeated use of illegal substances, or engaging in risky sexual behavior.

But this doesn’t have to be their life. Our experienced team are committed to teaching your child the skills they need to build the life they want to live.
